Playoff Scenarios
Division A & B:
- Wild card Sunday: 6th vs 7th seed, winner plays 5th seed (single elimination)
- Following Sunday: winner vs 4th seed (single elimination)
- Then standard playoff scenario
- Winter league: everyone makes playoffs to keep motivated
Division C & D:
- Everyone plays each other once, then split
- Top 5 go to Division C, bottom 6 go to Division D
- Each division plays another round if season allows
- Playoffs start after split if season is lagging
Byes
- Most divisions have odd number of teams, so byes already scheduled
- Teams allowed one "emergency" bye per season (not enough players)
- Additional emergency byes require paying both team fees or forfeit
- No byes in playoffs (only true emergencies considered)
- In 2 of 3 playoff games: emergency bye gives loss, must be true emergency
Father's Day
- Teams can opt out of playing on Father's Day
- Does not count against team byes
Rules Clarifications
Hit-by-Pitch:
- Umpire's discretion if batter could have avoided being hit
- Speed of pitch doesn't matter if batter in batter's box
- Players cannot argue with umpire (same as strike calls)
Double Play Obstruction:
- Players must slide or run to right field to clear double play
- Cannot wait until last minute to move
- Umpires will call automatic double play if obstruction appears close
Dead Ball:
- Anything in front of plate = dead ball
- Anything crossing plate = live ball
- Umpire's call (angle may vary)
Umpires:
- Some umpires work other leagues; rules will be reviewed with new umpires
Schedules
- Season schedule posts 2 weeks out
- Give advance notice for byes; hard to reschedule after posting
- Schedule sent out showing teams, byes, and opponents (not time or park)
Team Photo IDs

- Preferably in email with name under each photo
- Teams have max player limit per roster
- IDs crucial for playoffs to prevent extra players
